Having lived in the Greater Washington, D.C., area for more than four decades, Marsha considers herself a native Washingtonian. Marsha moved to Potomac, Maryland, with her family in the early 70s and sold her first home in 1979. We just finished assisting our sister and brother-in-law complete the sale of their home. The real estate agent who represented them is Marsha Schuman of Washington Fine Properties’ Potomac office.
Marsha demonstrated effort above and beyond the scope of a real estate agent. Personal factors made it difficult for the sellers to handle the myriad tasks that are part of a normal real estate transaction, and this one had several major complications on the buyers’ part as well. Marsha was gently persistent and was always available to clear up any confusion. My husband and I recently had the opportunity to work with the talented and very well-connected Marsha Schuman. My husband and I lived in Potomac for almost 45 years, and when we decided to move to Florida, we considered Marsha Schuman and one other top agent to list our home. Marsha was both professional and personable. She has solid systems in place for pricing and marketing. She brought in a professional interior designer who made suggestions for staging our home (our home was fully furnished, but he suggested several changes, which really helped).
The real estate market was extremely busy this past spring, but Marsha persisted in chasing down an excellent photographer for the photo shoot and floor plan. Her description of the architectural features of our home and the brochure she produced were top-notch. She leveraged the marketing engine WFP has in place and advertised our home on a variety of media platforms.
We had a lot of artwork in our home, and Marsha was very cognizant of that. She did not put our home on lockbox, and, instead, took the time to escort each interested party through the house herself.
She gave us detailed feedback after each showing.
Leaving our home and state after so many decades was a very emotional experience for us, and Marsha made the entire process very smooth and stress-free for us.
As for pricing, Marsha conducted a statistical analysis by bringing in agents from her office, and the price was fixed based on their input. Our house sold for 15% more than the price given by the other top agent.
